Following last night's extra inning affair, the Fordham softball team was ready early Saturday morning to take on the Charlotte 49ers and advance to the Atlantic 10 Championship for the third time in four years. However, the storybook ending went to the 49ers, scoring a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh to win, 2-1, and eliminate Fordham from the tournament. [Full Story]

It took five hours and 13 minutes, 19 hits, and two lightning delays but the Fordham Rams kept their Atlantic 10 Softball Championship hopes alive with an 8-2 13-inning win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at the Phillips Softball Complex in Charlotte, N.C. It tied the longest game in Atlantic 10 history, while the Rams set or tied four other game records, including having 19 hits in the game. [Full Story]

Fordham University junior designated player Mary Beth Puccio (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) was named First Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District for softball in a voting among the district's Sports Information Directors it was announced today. She will now be placed on the national ballot for Academic All-American® consideration. [Full Story]

In what seems to be the theme of the tournament, Fordham and UMass found themselves in another pitcher's duel between Fordham's Nicole Ayres and UMass' Brandice Balschmiter. While the Rams were able to connect for four hits off Balschmiter, they couldn't push any runs across the plate. However, UMass' was able to notch a pair of runs as the Minutewomen defeated the Rams, 2-0, on day two of the Atlantic 10 Softball Championship at Charlotte's Phillips Complex.[Full Story]

The 2008 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship opened in fine fashion for the Fordham Rams, as senior Allison Twarowski threw her first career complete game shutout, while Meghan Shager drove home the lone run of the game, as the fourth-seeded Rams topped the fifth-seeded Saint Joseph's Hawks, 1-0, at Charlotte's Phillips Softball Complex.[Full Story]

Seven Fordham University softball Rams were honored by the Atlantic 10, being named All-Conference in voting conducted among the Conference's head coaches. Honored were Melissa Andrews, who was named First Team All-Atlantic 10, Stephanie Mott and Allison Twarowski, who were named to the Second Team, Allison Storc and Mary Beth Puccio, who were named Honorable Mention All-Conference and Jocelyn Dearborn and Samantha Pellechio, who were named to the All-Rookie Team.[Full Story]

- Softball Hits Their Way To 13-4 Win Over George Washington

The easiest way to describe the series finale between George Washington and Fordham was a wild, roller coaster affair, featuring 17 runs, 27 hits, and eight errors. The Rams though came out on top, 13-4, behind a career-high five RBI from Mary Beth Puccio and three hits from Allison Storc and Melissa Andrews.[Full Story]
