Fordham University women's soccer coach Ness Selmani announced the newest recruiting class for the upcoming season, as three new players will suit up for Fordham in 2008. The newest members of the Fordham women's soccer team are midfielder Mariella Romano (Whitestone, N.Y./Townsend Harris), midfielder/defender Michaela Murphy (Dunstable, Mass./Groton Dunstable Regional), and forward Katherine Wah (Arlington, Mass./Arlington). Over 200 Fordham University student-athletes were honored for compiling a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at the Fifth Annual Breakfast for Champions held on January 27th in the McGinley Center Ballroom. The event was sponsored by the Fordham Athletic Department with assistance from the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and the Office of Academic Advising. [Full Story]

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 2007 adidas Women's Soccer All-Northeast Region teams this afternoon, with the Rams being well represented among the Northeast's best. Three Fordham players earned All-Region honors led by sophomore Courtney Fedge (Bellport, N.Y./Bellport), who was named First Team All-Northeast Region. Junior Kim Boulos (Croton, N.Y./Croton) earned Second Team All-Northeast, while freshman Katie McDermott (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) was named Third Team All-Northeast.[Full Story]

- Women's Soccer Rally Comes Up Short In A-10 Championship

Charlotte's Hailey Beam tallied a goal and assist, while Lauren Brown made eight saves, as Charlotte held off a strong Fordham rally to earn a 3-2 win in the finals of the 2007 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday at the 49ers' Transamerica Field. As evenly as two teams could be, not even five penalty kicks were enough to decide the Atlantic 10 semifinal between Fordham and Dayton. In the first extra kick, Kim Boulos scored for Fordham, while Allie Foust's shot for Dayton went right, giving Fordham a 4-3 victory in penalty kicks and their second straight berth in the Atlantic 10 Championship.[Full Story]
