Fordham women's basketball coach Cathy Andruzzi announced the hiring of John Thurston as an assistant women's basketball coach. Thurston comes to Fordham after two very successful seasons as the head women's basketball coach at Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida, after being named the program's first head coach in August 2005. Fordham women's basketball coach Cathy Andruzzi announced the signing of two junior college transfers today, as forward Randall Hurst (West Bloomfield, Mich./West Bloomfield (Daytona Beach CC)) and forward Tiffany Stokes (Lynwood, Ill./Thorton Fractional South (Butler County CC)) have both signed to play for Fordham University, beginning in the 2008-09 season. They join guard Becky Peters (Cranberry, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) and guard Tyonna Willingham (Cary, N.C./Athens Drive), who signed with the Rams during the early period. [Full Story]

Fordham freshman guard Megan Mahoney (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) was selected to the Atlantic 10's All-Rookie Team, it was announced today by the conference. She is joined by Xavier's Ta'Shia Phillips, Saint Joseph's Sarah Acker, Richmond's Brittani Shells, and Dayton's Kristin Daughtery. [Full Story]

It was Senior Day for the Fordham women's basketball team today, as senior Beth Troutt made her final home appearance this evening against the Charlotte 49ers at the Rose Hill Gym. She put forth a solid final effort in front of the home crowd with 14 points and four three-pointers, but it was enough to stop the 49ers, as Fordham was downed, 79-55.[Full Story]
