Men's Soccer Announces 2008 Freshmen Class

Fordham Men's Soccer Coach Jim McElderry has announced the addition five incoming freshmen today for the 2008 season. Goalkeeper Ryan Meara (Yonkers, N.Y./Fordham Prep), defender Alberto Gajano (Chatham, N.J./Chatham), midfielder Michael Caputo (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire), midfielder Sam Jolly (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier), and midfielder/forward Matt Courtenay (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) will all suit up for the Rams in 2008. [Full Story]

14 Fordham University Men's Soccer Student-Athletes Honored At Fifth Annual Breakfast for Champions

Over 200 Fordham University student-athletes were honored for compiling a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at the Fifth Annual Breakfast for Champions held on January 27th in the McGinley Center Ballroom. The event was sponsored by the Fordham Athletic Department with assistance from the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and the Office of Academic Advising. [Full Story]

  • The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced the 2007 adidas Men's Soccer All-Mid-Atlantic Region teams this afternoon. Two Fordham players earned All-Region honors as junior John Pardini (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) and senior Kevin Meyer (South Windsor, Conn./East Catholic) both earned Second Team honors.[Full Story]

  • Men's Soccer Downed By Charlotte At A-10 Championship
  • For the third straight Atlantic 10 Championship tournament, a Fordham and Charlotte team met with the winner advancing to bigger things, while the loser would have their season come to an end.   • The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2007 Men's Soccer All-Conference teams today, as voted upon by the conference's head coaches. Fordham had three representatives on the All-Conference teams, as junior John Pardini (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) was named First Team All-Atlantic 10, while senior Kevin Meyer (South Windsor, Conn./East Catholic) earned Second Team honors. In a vote of the conference sports information directors, defender Einar Oddsson (Reyjavik, Iceland) was selected to the All-Academic team.[Full Story]

  • Heading into today's Atlantic 10 men's soccer match between Fordham and Richmond, it felt eerily similar to last season, where Fordham needed a win in its season finale to make the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
