Baseball Drops Series Opener at UMass, 12-10

Baseball Splits with Xavier

Tom Davis threw seven and one-third innings of eight-hit ball to pick up his Atlantic 10-leading eighth win of the year and lead Fordham University to a 3-1 win over Xavier University in the first game of an Atlantic 10 doubleheader at Houlihan Park.   • After Tom Davis held the potent Charlotte bats in check last night, it was J.P. Mack's turn to attempt the feat today.   • Baseball Hands Charlotte First Ever Atlantic 10 Shut Out
  • In a game that featured the top two pitchers in the Atlantic 10 Conference, everyone was expecting a pitchers dual in today's Fordham-Charlotte match-up at Houlihan Park. Fordham senior Tom Davis entered the game with a 6-2 record and an Atlantic 10 best 2.10 ERA while Charlotte freshman Joe Yermal entered with a perfect 7-0 record, leading the conference in wins, while compiling a 2.73 ERA, second best in the conference. But the Rams picked up four of their seven hits in a seven-run third inning en route to a 10-0 win over the 49ers.[Full Story]
